Scheucher Parkett at Hotel Joseph’s House, Davos
Two products, one concept: 1300 m² of parquet flooring for high-quality hotel design
As part of the renovation of the Hotel Joseph's House in Davos, a conscious decision was made to invest in high-quality flooring in order to enhance the hotel in many ways in the long term. Scheucher parquet flooring was installed over an area of around 1300 m²:
MULTIflor.11 NOVOLOC 5G 1800 Oak Natural Natura Seda wide plank in the rooms
Large-format herringbone parquet MULTIflor.11 700 Oak smoked Medium Natur Natura in a dining room measuring approx. 250 m²
The use of two different parquet floors creates a noticeable contrast: cozy and calm in the private retreat rooms, structured and representative in the common area.
Project and setting
Following extensive renovation, the hotel now has 71 modern rooms and suites as well as new seminar and wellness areas. It was important to preserve the historic substance while implementing contemporary standards in terms of comfort and material quality. Different substrates posed special challenges for preparation and installation. Precise planning was crucial.
Parts of the renovation, in particular the interior design, were carried out by INEVO AG. Scheucher parquet was used, which is particularly suitable for the changing conditions in hotel areas due to its high dimensional accuracy and durability.

Parquet & effect
Herringbone parquet: Large-format strips measuring 11x140x700mm with a medium color tone – ideal for the dining room, giving it depth and creating a unique visual signature.
Natural oiled oak plank flooring: Natural and open-pored. It conveys elegance and comfort in rooms.
The contrast between herringbone and wide planks creates deliberate zoning in the hotel: communal areas are given expression; private rooms offer retreat and tranquility.
Conclusion
The pictures illustrate how the flooring changes the atmosphere: The herringbone parquet makes the dining room appear clearer and more striking, while the oak floorboards give the rooms a calming effect.
Wood also creates a natural warmth – both visually and acoustically – and significantly enhances comfort compared to other floor coverings. Scheucher parquet flooring has proven here that a floor can create a sense of identity in a room over a long period of use and can be renovated several times if necessary.
The two installation methods play different roles in the project: the herringbone parquet flooring adds expression and structure, while the wide plank flooring creates a sense of calm and spaciousness. They are connected by their common language – robust, timeless oak.
