Family life with oak parquet flooring in Stuttgart

Parquet Stories Current

As soon as you enter, you notice that this house has been designed with a keen sense of natural comfort. The parquet flooring runs harmoniously through all the rooms, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere right from the start. Plenty of natural light, clean Scandinavian lines, and natural materials blend harmoniously—nothing seems overloaded, everything fits together calmly, yet still gives the rooms a pleasant liveliness. Today, we have the opportunity to visit Isabella and her family in Stuttgart and take a look at their lovingly designed home.

The flooring plays a central role here. The oak plank flooring connects the rooms and creates a sense of continuity. It quickly becomes clear that this is not just a flooring choice, but a conscious foundation for the entire living space.

“Once the flooring was installed, the room immediately felt completely different,” says Isabella. “Only then did it really feel like home.”

Parquet flooring experienced and chosen with all the senses

The family became aware of Scheucher Parquet through friends who were renovating their house at the same time. It wasn't a photo or a sample that made the difference, but experiencing the parquet flooring directly in the room.

“We were able to see the wood flooring directly at our friends' house. Experiencing it in everyday life was ultimately decisive for our decision.”

This impression was confirmed in the showroom. There, they were able to take another look at the parquet flooring at their leisure, touch it, and compare it. Although vinyl was also under consideration at one point, the family felt that the look and, above all, the feel of real wood simply cannot be replaced.

Oak parquet flooring as a connecting element

In this house, the Scheucher Parquet WOODflor NOVOLOC 5G 182 Oak Knotty Valletta Seda Natura has been installed. The oak plank flooring runs through almost all living areas: from the open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area to the hallway and into the bedrooms and children's rooms. A total of around 126 square meters of oak parquet flooring was installed, about half of which was done by the homeowners themselves.

The flooring was not chosen at the end, but was considered in parallel with the furnishings.

“I had quite specific ideas in mind about the flooring and furnishings, and I coordinated the two directly with each other,” says Isabella.

This is evident in the interplay of materials. Light surfaces, natural fabrics, and subtle colors give the floor room to breathe. The white kitchen in particular shows how much the oak parquet contributes to the atmosphere. It takes away the coolness of the kitchen and gives the room a pleasant warmth.

Parquet flooring suitable for everyday use in family life

With two children, a parquet floor has to be more than just attractive. That's why the robustness of the wood flooring played a decisive role in the selection process.

“It really is suitable for everyday use. We can move furniture across it, and even water stains can be easily removed even after a long time. The high-quality, deeply impregnated oil-wax surface of the oak parquet flooring can withstand a lot of wear and tear in everyday use.”

Of course, real wood in a lively home doesn't remain completely unscathed. Every now and then, a scratch or small dent appears when something heavy falls. For the family, that's just part of life.

“You can see that it is a natural material. That makes the floor feel more alive than delicate.”

The wooden staircase made of oak parquet flooring as a deliberate accent

A special detail in the house is the wooden staircase made of oak parquet. It was deliberately designed with a 3-strip look, clearly setting it apart from the rest of the parquet flooring, yet remaining harmoniously integrated into the overall concept. The choice of material makes the staircase appear as an independent design element made of wood, which gives the room structure without disrupting the calm atmosphere of the house. It is a detail that may not be immediately noticeable, but whose effect becomes increasingly apparent over time.

Interplay of light and wood

The effect of the floor changes depending on the time of day. In the morning and afternoon, when the sun shines directly into the rooms, the grain of the oak becomes particularly visible. The light brings movement to the surface and makes the wood appear alive.

“Actually, the parquet floor always looks good,” says the family. “But when the sun shines on it, it's especially beautiful.”

Living with awareness

Sustainability is not demonstrated here by grand gestures, but rather by small, conscious decisions. Less furniture, but furniture that lasts a long time. Natural materials, a healthy indoor climate, and rooms that are tailored to the needs of the family. Oak parquet flooring fits naturally into this well-thought-out living concept.

When asked how real parquet flooring feels, the answers come without hesitation: warm, cozy, high-quality.

Or, as the family sums it up in one sentence:
“The floor feels natural and pleasant, and gives the room exactly the atmosphere we wanted.”

A big thank you to the family for allowing us to take a look inside their home and for sharing their experiences with us, from the decision-making process to everyday life. This clearly shows how much personality and warmth Scheucher oak parquet flooring can bring to everyday life.
