Customized parquet design for an international office in Istanbul
Some projects remain particularly memorable—not because of their size, but because of the creative idea and precision with which they were implemented. This project—carried out by our long-standing partner Artekk—for an international shipping company in Istanbul falls squarely into this category. This was not a classic parquet installation, but rather an architectural statement that combines material, craftsmanship, and design culture.
The idea behind the parquet pattern – familiar yet reinterpreted
Our partner Artekk was already familiar with the basic pattern for this project before it began.
“We had already implemented this parquet pattern in a similar form and knew its effect in the room. Together with the architectural firm, we specifically developed the design further and adapted it perfectly to the requirements of the office.”
The aim was to create a calm yet expressive parquet pattern that radiates seriousness while showcasing the craftsmanship of tailor-made parquet. The inspiration comes from the world of fine, ornamental designs – as seen in art or classic interior design.
This concept was translated into a modern, clear parquet structure in which each element is precisely coordinated with the others. The result is a floor that is not only functional but also acts as the creative centerpiece of the office – a prime example of how individual parquet defines spaces.

Material & total area
A total of 225 square meters of parquet flooring was installed using two types of our smoked oak wide plank flooring in natural Valletta Seda – one in the color Natura for the square elements and one in the color Perla for the round elements. This creates a special depth and an even more unique effect.
Our smoked oak impresses with its warm, deep brown color and excellent color stability – the velvety, naturally oiled and brushed surface creates a pleasant, representative effect in high-quality office spaces.
Implementation & Craftsmanship
The implementation of this pattern was anything but ordinary. The individual parquet elements were cut to size with millimeter precision in a specialized workshop using CNC machines. This was the only way to achieve such a complex geometry cleanly and permanently. The actual installation required the utmost concentration and experience. Each element had to fit exactly so that the overall picture could unfold its full effect.
