In our new parquet-story, we take you to picturesque Bolzano in South Tyrol - to a project close to the heart with a very special character. A historic grandparents' farmhouse has been lovingly transformed into a stylish retreat: the Kaiserau Höfl guesthouse, which today offers modern suites and apartments in a special ambience.

At the heart of the renovation was the idea of preserving the historical flair while creating a homely, contemporary sense of space. With a keen sense of architecture, choice of materials and craftsmanship, the family's great dedication created an absolute feel-good place, in which our oak parquet flooring also plays a key role.

Parquet with tradition for a house full of personality - why the family chose Scheucher

After deciding to revitalize the traditional building, it quickly became clear that the materials should be just as authentic and high-quality as the house itself. When it came to choosing the right parquet flooring, the family's wealth of experience came into play - thanks to the father's professional carpentry work, the family looked for parquet flooring at their wood dealer and our partner, Karl Pichler AG in Algund, where they became aware of Scheucher Parquet.

At the local specialist dealer, the family was able to directly compare the sample boards of wideplanks. After viewing individual variants in the showroom, they also used the online parquet finder to narrow down the selection and find suitable options for the project.

The guest house is located on the outskirts of Bolzano, surrounded by vineyards, on the threshold between rural and urban culture. Although it is a farmhouse in its basic character, it has a direct urban connection. The floor therefore had to fit in perfectly. For this reason, a wide-plank was the right choice for the family, but it should also reflect a certain elegance of urban society.

In the end, the choice fell on a parquet floor that is both rustic and elegant. For the clients, our oak smoked medium country plank combines these ambivalent characteristics perfectly. Anton's own home is the ultimate retreat in his everyday life:

"Your own four walls should be the place where you feel most at home. It's where you grow up, live, work and spend quiet hours relaxing. It's not just clothes that make the man, but above all the living space, and that starts within your own four walls."

Anton therefore not only attaches great importance to a high-quality, pleasant and comfortable living environment in his private life, but also wants to offer his guests a feeling of absolute relaxation and security. Cleanliness and comfort are the most important factors for him to feel at home in his accommodation. No hard-to-reach niches or dust traps, easy to clean, functional layout and furnishings. At the same time, aesthetics and comfort must not be compromised. And so he describes the hotel's living concept as follows:

"The apartments follow a very modern spatial concept. Open bedrooms, shared living/dining area, compact bathroom. Both the structural renovation of the building and the furnishing of the apartments were always carried out to a high standard of quality. The majority of the interior was made in our own carpentry workshop, and of course also designed. Externally, I would describe the style as minimalist but not sterile, functional but elegant at the same time. The knotty veneer doesn't look too homogeneous, but clear lines dominate, which are often emphasized by slender metal rods. As a contrast to the modern design line, there is some antique furniture in each apartment, which reminds us of the age of the building and its history."

The parquet flooring is particularly important: The rustic oak plank brings a natural structure to the rooms and complements the clear lines of the furnishings. This also creates a harmonious combination of contemporary design and the historical character of the building in all living spaces of the guest house.

In addition to the choice of a natural wooden floor, a holistic approach to sustainability also plays a central role for the client family. This is not just about materials, but about an attitude:
